Wrap Technologies (NASDAQ: WRAP) has announced the commercial launch of its WrapTactics Learning Management System (LMS), a move that completes the training foundation of its WrapShield six-tier human-centered response architecture. The platform is designed to support the deployment of the company's non-lethal technologies, including the BolaWrap 150, by offering digital learning, certification management, immersive virtual reality training, compliance reporting, and mobile learning capabilities.
The launch follows a significant regulatory development: the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in 2026 classified the BolaWrap 150 as an instrument of restraint rather than a firearm or weapon. This determination, according to the company, expands procurement opportunities beyond traditional law enforcement markets, potentially opening doors in private security, healthcare, corrections, education, and transportation sectors.
WrapTactics is expected to generate recurring subscription revenue through ongoing certification, curriculum updates, and compliance services. The company also intends to broaden the platform with AI-assisted training assessment, additional digital certifications, advanced analytics, and partner-developed content, targeting federal, defense, and international opportunities.
The BolaWrap 150, already used by over 1,000 agencies across the U.S. and in 60 countries, is not a pain-based compliance tool. It does not shoot, strike, shock, or incapacitate; instead, it deploys a multi-sensory distraction and a non-lethal restraint to help officers manage non-compliant subjects before resorting to higher-force options. This approach aims to reduce the risk of injury to officers, subjects, and the community.
Training is a critical component of the company's strategy. WrapTactics is backed by training certified by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST), reinforcing the company's commitment to public safety through expert instruction.
The company also offers WrapReality, a fully immersive VR training simulator that provides first responders with realistic, interactive scenarios to enhance decision-making under stress. Additionally, WrapVision, a body-worn camera and evidence management system, is designed for efficiency, security, and transparency, with a made-in-America roadmap projected for early 2026.
These developments come as demand for non-lethal tools and techniques grows, particularly in non-criminal calls where creating time, distance, and tactical advantage is crucial. The ATF's classification and the new LMS could position Wrap Technologies to capitalize on a broader market for safer public safety solutions.
