Viromed Medical AG Advances Cold Plasma Products and Confirms Full-Year Guidance

Viromed Medical AG, a German medical technology company specializing in cold plasma technology, has reported substantial progress in product development and market launch during the first half of 2026. The company confirmed its full-year guidance, signaling confidence in its strategic direction and operational execution. This matters because it demonstrates the commercial viability of cold plasma technology in medical applications and could accelerate adoption across the healthcare sector.

In the first half of 2026, Viromed advanced its product pipeline, expanded strategic sales partnerships, and continued research and development. A key focus was the planned acquisition of relyon plasma GmbH. CEO Uwe Perbandt stated, “We successfully continued developing our products in the first half of the year while also making important progress in preclinical research. The planned publication of the study results in a renowned scientific journal will further strengthen the scientific evidence supporting our cold plasma technology.”

Operationally, Viromed continued preclinical development of PulmoPlas®, started OEM production of ViroCAP® for HELLMUT RUCK GmbH, and concluded an exclusive sales partnership with NEBU-TEC for veterinary applications of PulmoPlas®. The company also completed the conformity assessment for ViroCAP® med as a Class IIa medical device under EU MDR, receiving official approval in July 2026, which enables sales to begin. Additionally, Viromed was granted a EUR 550,000 research allowance for cold plasma technology projects.

Financially, Viromed generated consolidated revenue of EUR 2.5 million in H1 2026, up from EUR 2.4 million in H1 2025. The net loss increased to EUR 1.1 million from EUR 0.8 million, due to expenses for the PulmoPlas® study and ViroCAP® med approval and launch. Equity rose 43.9% to EUR 9.5 million, bringing the equity ratio to 67.6%. The company financed itself primarily through a EUR 2.7 million loan from Perbamed Invest GmbH. For the full year 2026, Viromed expects significant increases in consolidated revenue and net income, confirming its adjusted guidance from May 8, 2026.

The half-year financial statements are available on the Viromed Medical AG website. These developments highlight Viromed’s commitment to advancing cold plasma technology and its potential to transform medical treatment options. The successful approval of ViroCAP® med and the expansion into veterinary applications through partnerships underscore the company’s strategy to diversify and commercialize its innovations.

As cold plasma technology gains regulatory acceptance and clinical validation, Viromed is well-positioned to capture growth in the medical device market. The confirmed guidance suggests that the company expects its investments in research and development to yield tangible financial results in the near term. For investors and industry observers, Viromed’s progress offers a case study in how emerging medical technologies can navigate regulatory pathways and achieve market entry.
