NEW YORK, NY — Tú Cuentas Cine Youth Fest (TCCYF), the youth-focused film initiative created by HITN, has earned two Telly Awards for its interview series Tú Cuentas Cafecito. The segments featuring media executive Ingrid 'Superstar' Salcedo and actress and filmmaker Roselyn Sánchez received Silver and Bronze Telly Awards, respectively, in the General–Interview & Talk Show category.
The Silver Telly was awarded for the episode with Ingrid 'Superstar' Salcedo, an Emmy Award-winning broadcast executive known for shaping prominent Latin music award shows. The Bronze Telly recognized the episode with Roselyn Sánchez, a Puerto Rican actress and filmmaker whose credits include "Without a Trace" and "Devious Maids." Sánchez recently expanded into directing with her film "Diario, Mujer y Café," a personal project rooted in Puerto Rican storytelling.
“For the past five years, HITN’s goal with Tú Cuentas has been to create a platform where young filmmakers and storytellers can showcase their voices and their work,” said Cynthia Rivera, co-director of the series. “Seeing our Cafecito series recognized with these Telly Awards is a beautiful affirmation of that vision, and we are deeply grateful to the emerging filmmakers who trust us with their stories and to the Telly Awards for this honor.”
The recognition marks a milestone for Tú Cuentas Cafecito, a series that centers intimate conversations with Hispanic leaders, creatives and changemakers. Host Raymond Arturo Pérez, a Los Angeles-based television writer who previously worked on season two of "Selena: The Series," brings warmth and authenticity to each conversation, creating a welcoming space for guests to share their stories.
These awards underscore the growing visibility of Hispanic-centered storytelling in digital and television media, particularly programs that blend cultural conversation with personal narrative. For more information about HITN and its programming, visit HITN.org.
