Total Wireless Expands Western Union Partnership to Retail Stores Nationwide

Total Wireless has announced an expanded partnership with Western Union, introducing a suite of financial services to its retail footprint across the United States. The services, which include money transfers, bill pay, and money orders, will be available at select stores starting today and will expand to additional locations through the end of 2026. This move aims to provide communities with greater access to essential financial tools, particularly in areas where traditional banking services may be limited.

The partnership builds on Total Wireless's June launch as the first U.S. wireless carrier to offer monthly money transfers at no additional cost. Eligible customers on MAX 5G BYO, MAX 5G, and ALL ACCESS plans will continue to receive one fee-free Western Union money transfer each month. This benefit can be redeemed through Western Union's website, mobile app, or at participating Total Wireless stores, offering flexibility and convenience.

David Kim, President of Verizon Value, emphasized the community-centric nature of the initiative. "Our stores are gathering places in the communities we serve," he said. "By adding Western Union to the retail experience, we're expanding access to everyday financial services for everyone. Whether customers need to send money, pay bills, or purchase money orders, they can now do it at Total Wireless, right alongside getting the reliable 5G connectivity they count on. That's what it means to put community first."

For all customers, the services will be available at standard Western Union rates, ensuring that even those not on eligible plans can utilize bill pay, money orders, and money transfers. The global reach of Western Union means customers can send funds to over 200 countries and territories, backed by a network of more than 360,000 payout locations worldwide. This partnership is expected to significantly enhance the utility of Total Wireless stores as one-stop destinations for both communication and financial needs.

Jesse Mory, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Western Union, highlighted the importance of meeting customers where they already shop. "Millions of customers rely on Western Union to move money across borders with speed and confidence," he said. "By bringing our services to Total Wireless stores, we're meeting more customers where they already shop and expanding access to reliable, convenient financial services. This partnership strengthens our presence in communities where our customers live and work."

The expansion is part of Total Wireless's broader mission to raise the bar in prepaid wireless by offering more value than any other no-contract provider. The brand, which operates 2,000 exclusive stores across the country, is covered by the Verizon 5G network and offers plans with unlimited data, access to Verizon's 5G Ultra-Wideband network, and prices guaranteed for five years with taxes and fees included. The addition of financial services is a natural extension of this value proposition, positioning Total Wireless as a community hub for both connectivity and financial empowerment.

This move also reflects a growing trend among wireless carriers to diversify their offerings and become more integral to their customers' daily lives. By partnering with established financial services providers like Western Union, carriers can offer tangible benefits that go beyond traditional telecom services, fostering customer loyalty and attracting new users. For Western Union, the partnership expands its retail presence into new venues, making its services more accessible to a broader demographic.

As the rollout progresses, customers can expect to see Western Union branding and service kiosks in participating Total Wireless stores. For more information about the services and the fee-free transfer benefit, customers are encouraged to visit their local Total Wireless store or check the Total Wireless Western Union page.
