The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, through the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center, announced it will dispatch five Tokyo-based companies to POWERGEN 2026, a major power generation and energy infrastructure exhibition in San Antonio, Texas. This initiative builds on the economic cooperation framework between Tokyo and Texas, aiming to strengthen business collaboration and foster technology exchange in critical sectors such as power, water, and disaster resilience.
The selected companies offer solutions for challenges faced by U.S. utilities and EPC contractors. Nichibou Co., Ltd., a specialist in fire protection and disaster prevention equipment, provides 24/7 maintenance for lifelines like water and HVAC systems. It holds UL certification for its erase-tube fire suppression device. Noatech Co., Ltd. supplies advanced water treatment using its proprietary inorganic powder coagulant, Super Namit, supporting PFAS-compliant treatment for cooling towers and industrial wastewater. Sketch Co., Ltd. develops nano-coating technologies for energy efficiency, including heat-shielding window coatings and aliphatic polyurea coatings with over 20 years of weather resistance, implemented in over 1,000 facilities in Japan. System Brain Corporation offers nano-cleaning and surface protection for solar panels and infrastructure, with installations at the Imperial Palace. Yamaguchi Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., with over 75 years as a steel fabricator, provides sustainable infrastructure using Green Carbon Steel™ and Blue Carbon Steel™, and has established its U.S. subsidiary, American Katerra, LLC, in San Antonio.
These technologies address U.S. utility needs: power resilience, fire safety, PFAS compliance, energy efficiency, and infrastructure modernization. The Tokyo–Texas cooperation, built through business and government exchanges, is deepened through participation in POWERGEN 2026.
