The 52nd HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, 17th HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, and 24th Hong Kong International Stationery & School Supplies Fair opened today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, running through January 15. Jointly organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the fairs bring together over 2,600 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, including new participants from Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Norway.
Jenny Koo, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director, said the fairs are themed "New Play for All," covering play, growth, and creativity. The debut "Pop & Play" pavilion showcases some 150 local and international IPs, including B.Duck, Hot Toys, and threezero, and is open to both trade buyers and the public. Limited-edition collectibles are launching, such as MOMOLAND's debut dolls, TUTU MOKEY figurines limited to 100 and 88 pieces globally, and CM Concepts' Mazinger Z Playing Cards limited to 1,500 sets. The pavilion also features interactive activities, autograph sessions, and seminars with artists like b.wing and Kenny Wong.
Product trends include pop culture collectibles, with the Kidult World in Hall 3E showcasing adult-oriented toys like NARUTO keychains and Transformers model kits. The new Happy Ageing label helps buyers identify products for seniors, such as companion plush toys and color-sorting exercises. Sustainability is highlighted through the Green Solutions label, with over 400 exhibitors displaying eco-friendly products, including toys made from ocean-bound plastic and FSC-certified baby push walkers. Educational toys integrating STEM, like Canadarm robotic arms and 2-in-1 digital microscopes, are also featured.
Korean film and TV-related products are a new focus, with exhibitors showcasing KPop Demon Hunters characters and a replica of the Gonggi Tossing Game from Squid Game. Pinkfong makes its debut with the Baby Shark Alphabet Learning Bus.
The Asia Toys & Games Forum opens tomorrow, featuring discussions on market outlook, global IP strategies, and toy safety regulations. The fairs adopt an EXHIBITION+ model, combining physical access with the Click2Match platform for online business meetings, available from January 5 to 22. More than 200 buyer missions from over 40 countries are attending.
