SMT Scharf AG Advances Strategy 2026 with Exclusive Cooperation in Kazakhstan and South Africa

SMT Scharf AG, a global leader in bespoke transport solutions for underground mining, is accelerating its Strategy 2026 by entering exclusive cooperation agreements with CFH Group for markets in Kazakhstan and South Africa. The company announced on March 19, 2026, that CFH Group will serve as the exclusive dealer for all SMT Scharf products in Kazakhstan via CFT Kazakhstan T.O.O., while SMT Scharf will exclusively distribute CFH Group’s air technology and environmental solutions in South Africa through its subsidiary SMT Scharf Africa (Pty.) Ltd.

This move is part of SMT Scharf’s broader strategy to realign global business activities, optimize supply chain efficiency, and diversify its product portfolio toward electromobility and intelligent transport solutions. The cooperation aims to strengthen local footprint, integrate products across the Group, and leverage synergies. Key markets like China and Poland remain central, with continued exploration for future expansion.

CEO Longjiao Wang emphasized that the Strategy 2026 focuses on meeting growing demand for low-emission, high-quality transport solutions in underground mining and tunnel logistics. The company is developing light electric vehicles (LEVs) and battery-powered monorails, with previous collaborations with Chinese suppliers for LEVs. The exclusive agreement with CFH Group is a significant step in expanding into relevant mining markets worldwide.
