The Canadian Salsa Festivals Project (CSFP) is expanding its reach with the inaugural Salsa at Niagara Falls, a free two-day festival scheduled for September 12-13, from noon to 10 p.m., featuring nightly fireworks over the falls. This new event, presented in partnership with Niagara Falls Tourism, Niagara Parks Commission, Fallsview Casino Resort, and TLN Media Group, promises to blend Latin music, dance, food, and culture with the natural wonder of Niagara Falls.
The festival will showcase a special appearance and free concert by salsa star Frankie Negrón on Sunday, September 13, at 8 p.m. With over 300 performers across two live entertainment stages, the lineup includes Juno-nominated Andy Rubal headlining Saturday, alongside award-winning Latin singers Yani Borrell and Aiona Santana. Attendees can participate in dedicated dance zones with non-stop lessons throughout the weekend, including at the Oakes Garden Theatre, and enjoy world-class dance performances and interactive lessons with schools from the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) and local Buffalo dance schools such as MOVIEmiento Latin Dance Studio and Fanny Olaya.
Set against the backdrop of Niagara Falls, the festival will take over the Niagara River Parkway, offering a vibrant marketplace with authentic Latin cuisine and specialty vendors. Each night at 10 p.m., a spectacular fireworks show choreographed to salsa music will light up the sky over the falls, creating a unique sensory experience.
This landmark event marks the beginning of an annual tradition that aims to boost tourism in the region. According to Niagara Falls Tourism, the festival is expected to draw visitors from across North America, given that Niagara Falls is within a day's drive of half the continent's population—over 152 million people. The collaboration with local partners like Niagara Parks and Fallsview Casino Resort underscores the economic and cultural significance of this new event.

The CSFP is a federally incorporated not-for-profit entity that produces the annual TD Salsa in Toronto Festival, Canada's largest celebration of Latin arts.
