Rubean AG Forecasts Significant Revenue Growth and Path to Profitability by 2027

Rubean AG, the Munich-based FinTech company specializing in software point-of-sale (SoftPOS) solutions, announced at its annual shareholders’ meeting on Wednesday that it expects consolidated revenue to rise to between 5.0 million and 6.0 million euros in 2026, up from 3.71 million euros in the previous year. Co-CEO Jochen Pielage reported that first-half revenue grew by approximately 50 percent to 2.4 million euros, driven by strong performance in recurring revenue from its SoftPOS software fees. “Half of the 2026 annual revenue will already come from the particularly profitable recurring revenue. That is significantly more than in the previous year,” Pielage stated.

The company, which converts traditional card readers into software apps that can be installed on smartphones, continues to expand its market presence. Rubean already claims market leadership in Germany and Spain, and has successfully entered markets in Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, as well as North and South America, with support from major banks and payment service providers. Pielage noted that Rubean now collaborates with 19 major banks, including German Sparkassen, BBVA in Spain, and Commerzbank, along with internationally active payment service providers. “The groundwork has been laid for expanding a very successful sales operation, especially with the help of my new colleague on the Executive Board, Stephan Kuck,” he added.

Looking ahead to 2027, Pielage expressed optimism about reaching monthly breakeven and achieving positive net income for the first time. “Thanks to the continued significant growth in recurring revenue, we will reach monthly breakeven in 2027 and close the entire year with a positive net income for the first time.” This forecast underscores the company’s transition from a growth-focused phase to a profitability-oriented trajectory.

The announcement highlights the importance of recurring revenue models in the FinTech sector, as Rubean’s software-only approach eliminates the logistical overhead of hardware, enabling scalable and cost-effective payment solutions.
