ROS® and FranMan Release Updated Franchise Recruitment Manual Reflecting Modern Tools and Best Practices

Recruitment Operating System (ROS®) has announced the release of its updated and expanded Franchise Recruitment Manual, a resource designed to align with the practices of today's high-performing franchise recruitment teams. Developed in collaboration with FranMan, a specialist in creating professional operating manuals, the revised guide aims to merge proven recruitment principles with contemporary tools and best practices. This marks the first significant update to the manual since 2021.

Art Coley, founder and CEO of ROS®, emphasized the importance of adapting to changes in the industry. "The fundamentals of great franchise recruitment haven't changed, and we don't want them to," he said. "What has changed are the tools, data, and technology available to recruiters. Our job is to bring those pieces together without making recruitment more complicated. We want to take an already powerful resource and make it even more relevant to how champion recruiters operate today."

The manual has long served as a practical framework for franchise sales and development teams, outlining the role and responsibilities of recruiters and guiding them through ROS®'s proprietary 8-Step recruitment process. However, the pace and methods of franchise recruiting have evolved significantly since the last major revision. Recruiters now have access to expanded datasets, AI-driven technologies, and sophisticated candidate intel. The updated manual seeks to combine the timeless principles with these modern advancements.

Key updates in the manual include enhanced sections on recruitment analytics, which teach recruiters to use data to understand their pipeline and make informed decisions; practical best practices for responsibly integrating artificial intelligence into recruitment tasks; and expanded guidance on the daily, weekly, and monthly behaviors that distinguish high-performing recruiters. Additionally, the manual now addresses different types of franchise buyers, including multi-unit, institutional, and portfolio candidates, and strengthens advice on candidate funding while keeping content vendor-neutral.

Lennon Coley, VP of Analytics at ROS®, highlighted the significance of the analytics expansion. "Historically, we've been very clear in our belief that analytics shouldn't be limited to what you can access in an executive report - the information is far too valuable," he said. "We believe recruiters should have a crystal-clear understanding of their own numbers, including how they operate and where best to apply them. What we've accomplished by expanding our guidance in the analytics space is in tying their importance directly to recruiter behaviors and execution - which represents a significant step forward in the process."

The manual also provides deeper insights into FDD (Franchise Disclosure Document) and recruitment process best practices, helping recruiters guide candidates through critical stages. It explores integrating with other ROS® educational resources, such as ROS Academy™ and digital content, to create a more cohesive learning experience.

This updated manual is a step forward in advancing recruitment industry standards, incorporating the latest developments in procedures, tools, and candidate behaviors. It offers franchise recruitment professionals a holistic approach to continuous improvement and outcomes.
