Quantumzyme Corp. (OTC: QTZM) announced the publication of its latest research in the Journal of Molecular Graphics & Modelling, highlighting a fully computational enzyme engineering approach for sustainable drug manufacturing. The peer-reviewed study explores the use of virtual screening and computational modeling to evaluate transaminase enzyme variants used in the asymmetric synthesis of L-HPE, a chiral intermediate relevant to ACE inhibitor drug production.
Rather than relying solely on traditional experimental methods, the research employed large-scale virtual screening and ranking methodologies to assess enzyme–substrate interactions, catalytic alignment, and structural stability under defined simulation conditions. This approach enabled the identification of enzyme candidates for subsequent experimental consideration, potentially reducing the need for extensive laboratory iteration.
