Powermax Minerals Inc. (CSE: PMAX) (OTCQB: PWMXF) (FSE: T23) has announced the completion of its 2026 field exploration program at the Cameron Rare Earth Element (REE) Project near Revelstoke, British Columbia. The program, conducted in July and August, involved geological mapping, prospecting, rock-chip, soil and stream-sediment sampling, along with handheld radiometric screening across priority target areas. A total of 250 samples were collected, including 50 rock-chip, 50 soil and 150 stream-sediment samples, all of which have been submitted to AGAT Laboratories in Calgary for analysis.
This field program was designed to expand geological and geochemical coverage of areas identified through previous sampling, mapped pegmatites, geological contacts and drainage catchments. The company plans to integrate the analytical data with geological and radiometric field information once laboratory results are received and QA/QC reviews are completed. This integration will help refine and rank targets for potential additional surface work, trenching or future drill evaluation. The Cameron REE Property consists of three mineral claims totaling approximately 2,984 hectares, and Powermax holds an option to acquire it.
The completion of this program is significant because it advances the exploration of rare earth elements, which are critical for modern technologies such as electric vehicles, wind turbines and defense applications. With global supply chains heavily reliant on China, projects like Cameron REE contribute to diversifying and securing a North American supply of these essential minerals. Powermax's systematic approach, combining geological and radiometric data, enhances the potential for identifying high-grade REE mineralization.
In addition to the Cameron project, Powermax is advancing other REE properties, including the Atikokan REE Property in NW Ontario (455 unpatented mining claims) and the 5,178-hectare Pinard REE in Northern Ontario, as well as owning a 100% interest in the Ogden Bear Lodge Project in Wyoming. This portfolio underscores the company's commitment to becoming a significant player in the REE sector.
