PickleJar Entertainment Group, Inc. (OTC Pink: PKLE), a live entertainment technology company, has announced its role as the marketing technology and fan engagement provider for the feature film Sunflower Child, a romantic comedy starring Gavin Casalegno (Amazon's The Summer I Turned Pretty) and Jennifer James. This collaboration represents a strategic expansion of PickleJar's content ecosystem beyond its core technology, connecting radio, digital channels, and live venues to support original content.
The film, which completed principal photography and is now in post-production, was produced by Joseph Goldman for Double J Productions in association with Nebel Productions. Filming took place in the U.K., including at historic Twickenham Studios and on location throughout London. Sunflower Child marks the feature directorial debut of award-winning cinematographer Jamie Touche (Cerebrum, Trinou). The cast also includes Daniela Norman (Tiny Pretty Things, Cats), Muhannad Ben Amor (Disney+'s Andor, Netflix's Extraction), and Maddie Close (BBC's The Other Bennet Sister).
International distribution is being handled by MSR Media International, which introduced the film to buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin in February 2026. The company will continue its push at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival in May 2026, engaging with global distributors and territory buyers.
PickleJar's involvement includes activating its integrated platform—FanVivo, PickleJar Up All Night, and PickleJar Plus—to extend the film's audience reach across radio, digital, and venue channels. This marks a significant step for the company as it diversifies its revenue streams. Kristian Barowsky, President and Co-Founder of PickleJar Entertainment Group, stated, "This collaboration reflects PickleJar's commitment to expanding beyond core technology and into supporting original content that resonates with audiences. Film is a natural extension of our entertainment ecosystem."
The film's synopsis follows a young screenwriter who, caught between Hollywood fame and artistic integrity, falls for an aspiring director. The story explores betrayal, the cost of success, and the choice between the wrong version of a dream and following one's heart. Jennifer James, who wrote the screenplay and stars as the lead, noted, "This project became one of those rare experiences that took on a life of its own... The result is an anthem for authenticity, for indie filmmakers, and what it really takes to get a foot in the door."
PickleJar's investment in Sunflower Child includes a £25,000 production investment, which was reviewed and approved by the company's independent directors on arm's-length terms. The company's broader content portfolio includes its nationally syndicated radio show PickleJar Up All Night, distributed via Local Radio Network partnerships, and original programming initiatives. Additional details on the integrated marketing campaign will be announced in the coming weeks as the film continues its international distribution push.
