Oregen Energy Appoints Philip Birch as Strategic Advisor for Namibia Offshore Block

Oregen Energy Corp. (CSE: ORNG) (OTCQB: ORGEF) (FSE: A1S0) has named petroleum geoscientist Philip Birch as a strategic advisor, the company announced. Birch, formerly Exploration Director at Impact Oil & Gas, will support Oregen as it evaluates a potential investment in Namibia’s offshore Block 2812Ab in the Orange Basin. The block sits adjacent to the Venus discovery, a major find by TotalEnergies where Birch played a key role in identifying and advancing the prospect prior to its successful drilling.

According to the press release, Birch’s expertise will bolster Oregen’s exploration strategy, subsurface evaluation, and technical positioning related to the block, which lies within the same proven petroleum fairway as Venus. The appointment underscores Oregen’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the Orange Basin, an emerging world-class petroleum province that has attracted major operators following several recent discoveries.

Oregen Energy is an investment company focused on oil and gas assets in Africa. Its current flagship investment is a 33.95% net interest in Block 2712A, also in the Orange Basin offshore Namibia. The company is actively exploring other opportunities in the Orange and surrounding basins. The addition of Birch, who has deep experience in the region, is expected to enhance Oregen’s ability to identify and evaluate high-potential assets.

“Philip’s track record in the Orange Basin is exceptional,” said a company spokesperson. “His insight will be invaluable as we assess Block 2812Ab and other opportunities in this prolific basin.” The block is strategically located near the Venus discovery, which has been hailed as one of the largest oil finds in recent years, with estimated recoverable resources of over 1 billion barrels.

Birch’s appointment comes at a time when the Orange Basin is attracting significant attention from global energy companies. The basin’s potential has been validated by discoveries from TotalEnergies, Shell, and other operators, positioning Namibia as a future oil and gas hub. Oregen’s interest in Block 2812Ab aligns with its strategy to capitalize on this momentum through targeted investments.
