Novogenia AG, an international healthcare company specializing in human genetics and personalized health products, has published its issuer report for the first half of 2026. The report reveals a mixed financial performance but highlights significant strategic advancements that could shape the company's trajectory in the personalized prevention and healthcare market.
Consolidated revenue for H1 2026 was EUR 25.7 million, down 7% from EUR 26.5 million in the prior-year period. This decline was primarily due to lower volumes in the pharmaceutical and medical device trading segment, which faced regulatory changes. However, the core DNA analysis and personalized products segment achieved positive revenue growth, signaling resilience in the company's primary business area. CEO Dr. Daniel Wallerstorfer acknowledged that financial performance did not meet expectations but expressed encouragement about the positive year-on-year development of the core business and a significant reduction in the cost base.
The company's cost-saving measures in materials, personnel, and other operating expenses led to an improvement in operating profit of approximately EUR 2.7 million. Despite this, EBIT remained negative at EUR -4.7 million, an improvement of 4.1% compared to the prior-year period, largely because the previous year benefited from one-time effects that boosted other operating income. Consolidated net income was EUR -2.1 million, compared to a positive EUR 2.0 million in the previous year, which had been supported by a significantly higher financial result. As of June 30, 2026, Novogenia held EUR 39.8 million in cash and cash equivalents, down from EUR 71.9 million, but still providing a solid financial foundation for ongoing development.
Strategically, Novogenia made notable progress in the first half of 2026. The collaboration with 10X Health Systems was expanded through the advancement of a joint product pipeline. The enhanced Methylation Test MGT Plus was successfully launched in the U.S. market, broadening the product portfolio. In collaboration with G42 in Abu Dhabi, preparations for a Middle East market launch advanced, including product adaptations and Halal certification. The company also launched the Multi-Cancer Check, expanding its preventive healthcare offerings, and introduced a new software platform for its NovoDaily product line to enable more efficient product development and shorter turnaround times. Construction began on a new company site in Hallwang near Salzburg, which will feature modern laboratory and production capacities, as well as dedicated research and development space. Completion of the 9,300-square-meter facility is planned for early 2028.
The renaming from Darwin AG to Novogenia AG, approved at the 2026 Annual General Meeting, was implemented in July 2026. This rebranding aims to consolidate brand identity, strengthen visibility, and streamline communication with customers and investors. The company's international presence will be further reinforced through participation in several upcoming conferences. Felix Bausch, CIO, will attend the 5th Zurich Investor Day on September 29, 2026. Dr. Wallerstorfer will present at the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit from October 20-22, 2026, overseeing the Middle East product launch. Bausch will also participate in the ODDO BHF Autumn Round Table on October 22, 2026, and both executives will attend the Deutsches Eigenkapitalforum from November 23-25, 2026.
These initiatives underscore Novogenia's commitment to overcoming current challenges and capitalizing on growth opportunities in the personalized health market. For more information, visit https://novogenia.com/novogenia-ag. The original release is available on www.newmediawire.com.
