Nordex Group Secures 82 MW Orders for Citizen Wind Projects in Lower Saxony

The Nordex Group has received orders from the EFG Energy Farming Group to supply and install twelve wind turbines across several citizen wind projects in Lower Saxony, Germany. The combined capacity of the “Erlte-Endel” project in Vechta district and the “Bad Essen” project cluster in Osnabrück district amounts to approximately 82 MW. Each contract includes a 20-year Premium Service agreement, ensuring long-term operational support.

For the “Erlte-Endel” wind farm, Nordex will deliver five N175/6.X turbines mounted on hybrid towers with a hub height of 179 meters. The “Bad Essen” cluster will feature seven turbines: five N175/6.X units on 179-meter towers and two N163/6.X units with a hub height of 164 meters. This cluster comprises four separate projects: Langewiesen-Nord, Langewiesen-Süd, Rabber Wiesen, and the Wimmerbruch repowering project. Initial infrastructure work is slated to begin at the end of 2026, with turbine installation planned for 2027 and commissioning expected in spring 2028.

These projects are developed by the EFG Energy Farming Group, which emphasizes collaboration with local landowners and regional citizen wind companies. Reiner Borgmeyer, Managing Director of EFG Energy-Farming Holding GmbH, underscored the community-centric approach: “With the wind farms in Erlte-Endel and Bad Essen, we are implementing two projects together with Nordex that demonstrate how wind energy use and regional value creation can go hand in hand. Landowners and community energy companies have been involved from the outset, ensuring that the energy transition remains firmly anchored locally.”
