Noble Mineral Exploration Inc. is moving forward with a 2,500 to 3,000 meter diamond drill program on its Lucas Gold Project, located approximately 30 kilometers north of Timmins, Ontario. The program, supported by a $215,000 Ontario Junior Exploration Program (OJEP) grant, aims to test the known gold mineralized structure and several untested induced polarization (IP) anomalies that could host additional gold mineralization. The project is situated in a prolific mining region that has produced over 75 million ounces of gold and hosts the Kidd Creek Mine, which is celebrating 58 years of continuous production with more than 150 million tonnes of ore processed. The proximity to the Crawford Nickel Resource, being developed by Canada Nickel about 20 kilometers east, further underscores the area's mineral potential.
According to the company's update, a recent site visit determined that a winter road will be required to access the drill site, as the road needs time to establish a stable, deep frozen base for heavy equipment. This logistical step is critical for the upcoming program. The Lucas Gold Project is considered drill-ready, with a Memorandum of Understanding already signed with local First Nations, ensuring community engagement. Full industry services, supplies, and infrastructure are available in Timmins, with access via paved Highway 655, and there is ample access to power and water. The 2018 drill program consisted of 15 NQ diamond drill holes totaling 3,184 meters, covering approximately 650 meters of strike length along a 1,700-meter gold mineralized trend identified from airborne electromagnetic and differential magnetic surveys. Noble also located 37 historical drill-hole collars and twinned three of them. No further work has been done since 2018, but the project now has six discrete untested IP anomalous trends that require follow-up exploration, with only one trend having been investigated by diamond drilling to date.
Gold mineralization in the Lucas Gold Deposit is interpreted to be structurally controlled, occurring as discrete lenses stacked within a pyrite-plus-gold mineralized tuffaceous unit. For a visual overview of the project's location and infrastructure, see Figure 1: General Location Map with Local Infrastructure. The drill holes and trend of the mineralized zone on a magnetic background are shown in Figure 2: Drill Holes and Trend of Mineralized Zone on Magnetic Background. The 2018 drilling plan, with the outline of the mineralized zone projected to surface, is available in Figure 3: 2018 Drilling Plan with Outline of Mineralized Zone Projected to Surface. A plan of the induced polarization zones projected to surface, with the collars of the 2018 drilling and magnetic background, is shown in Figure 4: Plan of Induced Polarization Zones Projected to Surface with Collars of 2018 Drilling and Magnetic Background.
The development of the Lucas Gold Project is divided into three phases. Phase 1 aims to establish gold grade and extend the gold mineralized strike length to approximately 1,700 meters. Phase 2 will establish and verify gold mineralization in additional parallel IP anomalies. Phase 3 involves geological modeling and NI43-101 resource definition. The upcoming drill program will focus on IP Anomaly A to further define gold mineralization, as well as testing the other five undrilled IP anomalies for similar mineralization. The technical content of the release was reviewed and approved by Wayne Holmstead, P.Geo., an independent Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
This exploration program matters because it could significantly expand the known gold resource at Lucas, potentially leading to a new gold deposit in the Timmins camp. With the support of the Ontario government grant and a clear three-phase strategy, Noble is well-positioned to advance the project. As the company progresses, the results from this drill program will be closely watched by investors and the mining community, as they could unlock substantial value in a proven gold district.
