New Pacific Metals Reports Fiscal 2026 Results and Advances Carangas Project with Strong Economics

New Pacific Metals Corp. (TSX: NUAG) (NYSE American: NEWP) announced its financial results for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, alongside significant advancements at its Carangas Silver-Gold Project in Bolivia. The company reported a net loss attributable to equity holders of $990,000, or $0.01 per share, for the quarter, and $4.19 million, or $0.02 per share, for the full year. Despite the losses, the company maintains a robust working capital position of $37.76 million as of the fiscal year-end.

The most notable development came after the fiscal year-end when New Pacific signed 30-year Administrative Mining Contracts covering approximately 39 square kilometers of the Carangas Project. These contracts are now set to be submitted to the Plurinational Legislative Assembly of Bolivia for ratification and approval, a crucial step in securing the project's long-term tenure. This milestone follows years of operating experience in Bolivia, where the company has earned stakeholder and shareholder confidence.

Complementing the contractual progress, the company filed an updated preliminary economic assessment (PEA) for Carangas, which outlines robust project economics. The PEA reports a post-tax net present value (NPV) at a 5% discount rate of $2.65 billion and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 35.9% at base-case metal prices. The assessment envisions a 19-year mine life, excluding a two-year pre-production period, with initial capital costs estimated at $644.5 million. The project's post-tax payback period is calculated at 2.4 years, underscoring its financial viability.

These figures highlight Carangas as a cornerstone asset for New Pacific, complementing its Silver Sand project in Potosí, which has the potential to become one of the world's largest silver mines. The company's portfolio now includes two permitting-stage precious metals projects in Bolivia, positioning it for significant growth in the silver and gold sectors.

For investors, the updated PEA and the signing of mining contracts are pivotal. The favorable economics and the advancement of the permitting process signal reduced risk and a clearer path toward development. As New Pacific continues to navigate the regulatory landscape, the Carangas project could emerge as a major contributor to global silver and gold supply.
