Nevada Organic Phosphate Begins 2026 Drilling at Murdock Mountain, Targeting Deep Phosphate Zones

Nevada Organic Phosphate Inc. (CSE: NOP; OTCQB: NOPFF) has commenced drilling on the first hole of its 2026 exploration program at the Murdock Mountain Project, marking a significant step in advancing the project’s resource definition. The initial deep drill hole, designated MM26-7, is designed as a 100-meter step-back from last fall’s MM25-1 to further evaluate the thickness, continuity and phosphate grade characteristics of the Meade Peak Upper Phosphatic Zone at depth. The company reported minor technical drilling issues that are being addressed by contractor FTE Drilling, with operations expected to resume shortly and no material delays anticipated.

The Murdock Mountain Project hosts an organic sedimentary raw rock phosphate bed extending 6.6 kilometers in northeast Nevada, with additional applications extending the potential strike to over 30 kilometers. This is believed to be the only known large-scale organic sedimentary phosphate project in North America. Located close to the main highway to Montello/Elko, Nevada, and near the rail head to California, the project benefits from strong infrastructure. The 2026 drilling program aims to build on the results from the 2025 campaign, which successfully intersected significant phosphate mineralization. The results of MM26-7 will be critical in determining the continuity of the high-grade zones encountered in previous drilling.

Phosphate is a key ingredient in agricultural fertilizers, and the United States relies heavily on imports for its phosphate supply. The development of a domestic source like Murdock Mountain could reduce dependency on foreign supplies and support national food security. For Nevada Organic Phosphate, the project represents a strategic asset that could position the company as a major supplier in the North American market. The company’s focus on organic sedimentary phosphate, which is less common than igneous phosphate deposits, adds a unique value proposition due to its potential for direct application in organic farming.
