MS Tech Secures $1.7 Million Grant from Israel Innovation Authority to Develop Biosensors for Soil and Groundwater Decontamination

MS Tech Secures $1.7 Million Grant from Israel Innovation Authority to Develop Biosensors for Soil and Groundwater Decontamination

MS Tech Ltd., a global developer and manufacturer of nano and biosensors, announced that its Food Safety & Agritech Division has been awarded a prestigious R&D grant of approximately $1.7 million from the Israel Innovation Authority. The grant is part of the "Green Soil" National Consortium, which focuses on advanced biotechnology detection, diagnostics, and monitoring solutions for environmental contaminants.

The "Green Soil" Consortium, chaired and led by Elbit Systems, brings together 10 industrial companies and 16 leading academic research groups. Their goal is to develop biological technologies for in situ soil and groundwater monitoring, purification, and diagnostics. Specifically, the consortium targets PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances), fuel, toxic liquids, and explosives residues, using biological components, biosensors, and bacteria, along with new soil penetration techniques.

This initiative is expected to generate effective and eco-friendly environmental solutions for a local market estimated at billions of dollars, while opening new global markets worth hundreds of billions of dollars for consortium participants. MS Tech's role involves leveraging its proven nanosensor and biosensor technologies to create "Dual-Use" applications for soil decontamination and land rehabilitation across multiple civilian sectors.

The "Green Soil" Consortium represents a national effort to address persistent environmental pollutants. MS Tech's participation follows its previous involvement in the LIQUIDBX Consortium, also supported by the Israel Innovation Authority. The company's technologies are based on award-winning and patented sensors, representing a scientific breakthrough in detecting and identifying materials in gas, vapor, and liquid phases.
