MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) announced it has retained GLJ Ltd., a Calgary-based energy consulting firm, to support commercial evaluation of the Lawson Natural Hydrogen system in Saskatchewan. The decision follows 3D seismic results that significantly expanded the project’s interpreted scale, according to a press release.

GLJ will focus on resource modeling, development potential and optimization of an expanded drill program targeting Natural Hydrogen and Helium across the 28 sq. km Lawson Complex. The firm will also contribute to development of the Company’s AI-driven MAXX LEMI platform. The engagement marks a key step in advancing what the company calls Canada’s first-ever subsurface Natural Hydrogen system confirmed through deep drilling, with data validated by three independent labs.

MAX Power has built dominant district-scale land positions across Saskatchewan with approximately 1.3 million acres (521,000 hectares) of permits, plus an additional 5.7 million acres under application, covering prime exploration ground prospective for large-volume accumulations of Natural Hydrogen. The company also holds a portfolio of properties in the United States and Canada focused on critical minerals, highlighted by a 2024 diamond drilling discovery at the Willcox Playa Lithium Project in southeast Arizona, 100%-owned by MAX Power’s U.S. subsidiary.

The Lawson discovery near Central Butte, Saskatchewan, represents a potential breakthrough in the emerging natural hydrogen sector. Natural hydrogen, also known as white hydrogen, is generated by natural geological processes and could provide a low-carbon energy source if commercially extracted. MAX Power’s engagement of GLJ, a firm with extensive experience in energy resource evaluation, signals a move toward quantifying the resource and assessing development pathways.

The company noted that the 3D seismic results have significantly expanded the interpreted scale of the Lawson system, increasing the potential for large-volume accumulations. The expanded drill program will target both natural hydrogen and helium, which often co-occur in such geological settings. Helium is a critical resource used in medical imaging, semiconductor manufacturing, and aerospace applications.
