MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) announced the acquisition of provincial permits covering an additional 660,263 acres, or 2,672 square kilometers, across south-central Saskatchewan. This expansion increases the company's total permitted holdings by more than 50% to approximately 2 million acres across 12 projects, solidifying its position as a leader in the exploration of natural hydrogen in Canada.
The newly acquired permits include the Aurora Project, spanning 628 square kilometers and adjoining the existing Lawson project. This creates a contiguous 90-kilometer corridor that holds potential for multiple natural hydrogen discoveries and commercialization pathways. The corridor is strategically located near highway, rail, heavy industry, and emerging artificial intelligence infrastructure, which could facilitate future development and distribution.
In addition to the Aurora Project, MAX Power added the Ogema and Kyle projects, expanded the Grasslands Project through the Fox Valley target area, and secured additional permits at Lawson, Radville, and Tribune. The company is currently conducting commercial-validation drilling at Lawson Complex #1, recognized as Canada's first confirmed subsurface natural hydrogen system. Independent consultant GLJ Ltd. is reviewing data from the newly permitted areas to assess their potential.
The expansion underscores the growing interest in natural hydrogen as a clean energy source. Natural hydrogen, also known as white hydrogen, occurs naturally in the Earth's crust and can be extracted with minimal environmental impact compared to traditional hydrogen production methods. MAX Power's aggressive land acquisition strategy positions it to capitalize on this emerging market.
MAX Power's commitment to responsible exploration is highlighted by its focus on environmental stewardship and community engagement. The company's portfolio also includes critical mineral properties in the United States and Canada, such as the Willcox Playa Lithium Project in Arizona, which yielded a diamond drilling discovery in 2024.
