MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) has closed its previously announced private placement, raising approximately C$20.5 million in gross proceeds through the sale of 15,805,624 units at C$1.30 per unit. The offering was led by prominent investor Eric Sprott, with Hampton Securities Limited acting as lead agent and sole bookrunner.
The company plans to allocate the net proceeds toward the ongoing evaluation and development of its Lawson Natural Hydrogen discovery in Saskatchewan. Activities will include analytical testing, resource modeling, seismic acquisition, and additional drilling, alongside general corporate purposes. MAX Power believes this discovery represents a scalable natural hydrogen opportunity across its extensive land position.
Natural hydrogen, also known as white hydrogen, is generated through subsurface geological processes and has gained attention as a potential clean energy source. The Lawson Discovery near Central Butte, Saskatchewan, is described by the company as Canada's first-ever subsurface natural hydrogen system confirmed through deep drilling, with data validated by three independent laboratories.
MAX Power has built a dominant district-scale land position in Saskatchewan, holding approximately 1.3 million acres (521,000 hectares) of permits and an additional 5.7 million acres under application. These lands cover prime exploration ground prospective for large-volume accumulations of natural hydrogen.
In addition to its hydrogen focus, the company maintains a portfolio of properties in the United States and Canada targeting critical minerals. This includes the 100%-owned Willcox Playa Lithium Project in southeast Arizona, where a 2024 diamond drilling discovery was made.
The closing of this significant financing, led by a well-known resource investor, underscores the growing interest in natural hydrogen as a potential energy source. The funds will enable MAX Power to advance its exploration and development work, potentially positioning the company at the forefront of Canada's emerging natural hydrogen sector. According to the press release, the company is committed to responsible exploration and development practices that prioritize environmental stewardship, community engagement, and strong corporate governance.
