Phoenix audiences will have the opportunity to experience a rare convergence of music and comedy when Martha Wash and Marsha Warfield bring It's Raining Queens™ to Stage West at the Herberger Theater Center on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 7 p.m. The 90-minute live experience, described as more than a concert or comedy show, blends powerhouse vocals, stand-up comedy, and candid storytelling, showcasing two women whose careers have been defined by talent, perseverance, and an uncompromising commitment to being themselves.
Two-time Grammy nominee Martha Wash, known for her unmistakable vocals on iconic hits such as "It's Raining Men," "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)," and "Everybody Everybody," will take audiences on a musical journey through the songs and stories behind her groundbreaking career. From her success as one half of The Weather Girls to her contributions to multi-platinum recordings by Black Box and C&C Music Factory, Wash has helped create some of the most enduring dance and pop anthems. Her accolades include 15 No. 1 singles on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart, five Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and the National Blues Museum's Lifetime Achievement Award.
Acclaimed comedian, actress, and television host Marsha Warfield brings her fearless wit and commanding presence to the stage. Warfield, who made her television breakthrough on The Richard Pryor Show and became a household name as Roz Russell on Night Court, has built a career spanning nearly five decades. She later starred on Empty Nest and hosted The Marsha Warfield Show, making television history. Her recent work includes roles on Netflix's The Upshaws and ABC's 9-1-1. A winner of the 1979 San Francisco International Comedy Competition, Warfield has also received NAACP Image and Soul Train Award nominations.
