Lotto.com, the first online lottery platform in the United States, teamed up with Greyhound Pets of America (GPA) to host a community adoption event on Saturday, June 20, at its Players Cafe in Minneapolis. The event aimed to bring the community together while raising awareness for the organization dedicated to finding loving homes for retired racing greyhounds.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet adoptable greyhounds and enjoy various activities and special promotions, including 50% off selected beverages and coupons for 25% off future non-lottery purchases. In addition to organizing the event, Lotto.com made a donation to GPA to help cover adoption fees for future families.
One of the most special moments was the presence of Bailey and Rhea, two retired racing greyhounds recently arrived from West Virginia racetracks. They quickly won the hearts of participants, and several adoption applications were submitted that same day.
“We are so excited to have had this opportunity to show the community how wonderful retired racing greyhounds can be as pets,” said Janelle Thienes, a board member of GPA. “The Players Cafe location, with its constant flow of visitors, allowed us to introduce our foster greyhounds to many dog lovers in the North Loop neighborhood. We and the dogs especially appreciate Lotto.com's donation, which helps cover veterinary expenses and keeps adoption fees affordable for more families.”
