LIMES Schlosskliniken AG, a German operator of high-quality private clinics for mental health, has taken a significant step in its international expansion by signing a notarized preliminary agreement to acquire the operating company of the historic Villa Boccella estate in Lucca, Tuscany. The deal, finalized on June 17, 2026, in Florence, marks the company's entry into the Italian market.
The luxurious 14-hectare estate comprises eight buildings, including six villas with four swimming pools, offering 37 rooms with 62 beds across approximately 3,100 square meters of living space. LIMES plans to convert the renovated property into a mental health clinic targeting an international clientele, bridging its existing operations at Paracelsus Recovery in Zurich and its German locations.
The company holds an option to purchase the property, but the final acquisition is subject to obtaining a clinic license from local authorities. If approved, the opening is slated for early summer 2027. This move aligns with LIMES's strategy to provide a unique, healing environment for patients suffering from stress-related illnesses, depression, affective disorders, and acute burnout conditions.
