LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) (FSE: 3WK0) has announced the appointment of Andrew Elinesky as its new CEO, effective immediately. Elinesky, who brings over two decades of senior executive and financial leadership experience, most recently served as president and CEO of Sabre Gold Mines Corp., which was acquired in February 2025. In his new role, Elinesky will oversee corporate strategy, capital markets, financing, and investor relations. Former CEO Paul Ténière will continue as president and a director, focusing on the company's technical and operational activities.
This leadership change comes as LaFleur Minerals advances due diligence with Trafigura Canada Limited regarding a proposed prepayment and gold doré offtake arrangement. Representatives from Trafigura and company management completed a two-day site visit to the Beacon Gold Mill and Swanson Gold Project on August 10-11. The visit included an inspection of the mill and process circuits, a review of recommissioning progress, and an inspection of the ongoing diamond drilling program at the Swanson Deposit. While the company notes that there is no assurance definitive agreements will be reached, the continued progress signals a positive step toward securing financing for its operations.
The proposed transaction with Trafigura is significant for LaFleur Minerals as it seeks to restart the Beacon Gold Mill and advance the Swanson Gold Project. The mill, capable of processing over 750 tonnes per day, is central to the company's plans to process mineralized material from Swanson and offer custom milling services to other nearby gold projects. The Swanson Gold Project, located in the Abitibi Gold Belt near Val-d'Or, Québec, includes 481 claims and one mining lease covering 200.7 km². It hosts several gold and critical metals prospects previously held by Monarch Mining, Abcourt Mines, and Globex Mining. The project is easily accessible by road, enhancing its development potential.
LaFleur Minerals recently released a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Swanson Gold Project and the planned restart of the Beacon Gold Mill. The PEA is preliminary and includes inferred mineral resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves. There is no certainty that the results of the PEA will be realized.
The appointment of Andrew Elinesky is expected to strengthen the company's financial and strategic capabilities as it navigates the due diligence process and potential financing agreement. Elinesky's experience in capital markets and executive leadership will be valuable in securing the necessary funding to advance the company's projects. Meanwhile, Paul Ténière's continued focus on technical operations ensures that the company's mining expertise remains intact.
Investors and stakeholders will be watching closely as LaFleur Minerals progresses with Trafigura's due diligence and works towards finalizing the proposed prepayment and offtake arrangements. The successful completion of such an agreement could provide the company with the financial backing needed to bring the Beacon Gold Mill back into operation and further develop the Swanson Gold Project.
