JoySauce, the lifestyle and entertainment company focused on 'American Asians' and broader Asian pop culture, announced the official launch of JoySauce TV on Roku Channel on June 30, 2026. This move grants the network access to more than 100 million households across North America, making it the most widely distributed TV network for AAPI stories and culture. The Roku debut follows recent launches on Amazon Prime Video and Plex, continuing JoySauce's rapid expansion across major streaming platforms.
The significance of this launch extends beyond mere distribution. JoySauce is the first AAPI-focused channel to be added to Roku, filling a longstanding void in media representation. As Asian and Asian American culture gains unprecedented influence in mainstream entertainment, JoySauce positions itself as a premier destination for both underserved AAPI audiences and general viewers interested in fresh perspectives. The network offers a growing library of original and acquired content, including scripted comedy, feature films, reality programming, documentaries, music, stand-up comedy, and community conversations.
Programming highlights include 'JoySauce Late Night,' the first-ever AAPI late-night talk show; 'Jokes with JoySauce,' an all-AAPI standup comedy series currently in Emmy consideration; 'Team Tan,' following professional Chinese American race car driver Samantha Tan; and live cultural moments such as award shows and concerts. The network also features Asian cinema showcases, cult classics, Asian game shows, and anime and tokusatsu programming.
Founder and CEO Jonathan Sposato emphasized the mission: 'Five years ago, JoySauce started with a simple belief: American Asians deserve a much bigger stage. Today, we're building that big stage.' Sposato stressed that while representation matters, the content must be entertaining for everyone, aiming to make both AAPI and non-Asian audiences laugh, think, and discover something new.
Brandon Ferguson, COO and CFO, highlighted the long-term vision: 'Every new platform expands our reach, but it also strengthens the ecosystem we're building around American Asian culture.' Narumi Inatsugu, Co-Founder and CCO, added that the next chapter is ownership of stories and platforms, noting, 'These stories aren't on the margins of American culture—they're helping define it.' Jake Rubin, Co-founding Executive of Digital Networks, pointed out the glaring absence of AAPI experiences in the 900+ channel universe, which JoySauce aims to fill.
The Roku launch is part of a broader strategy to reach audiences on connected TVs in the living room, where content consumption is increasingly shifting. With the network available for free on Roku, Amazon Prime Video, Plex, YouTube, JoySauce.TV, and mobile apps, JoySauce is fulfilling its mission to become the leading home for American Asian entertainment. Additional programming announcements and platform expansions are planned throughout 2026.
