Greenland Mines Ltd (NASDAQ: GRML) (FSE: HK6) has completed its 2026 field program at the Skaergaard Project in southeast Greenland, marking a significant milestone in the company's efforts to advance the palladium-platinum-gold asset toward development. The more than two-month campaign, which concluded in 2026, included 4,480 meters of diamond drilling across 17 holes, more than 105 tons of bulk material, and a suite of mining-oriented geotechnical, structural, LiDAR, high-resolution aeromagnetic, ground-penetrating radar, and environmental baseline programs. The work is intended to support metallurgical flowsheet development, mine and infrastructure planning, resource evaluation, environmental studies, and preparation of an Initial Assessment.
The completion of this field program matters because it moves Skaergaard closer to a formal Initial Assessment, a key technical report that will outline the project's economic potential. The company's 2026 S-K 1300 Mineral Resource Estimate already includes 15 million ounces PdEq in Indicated Mineral Resources and 17.49 million ounces PdEq in Inferred Mineral Resources. However, the current estimate covers only approximately one-quarter to one-third of the intrusion hosting the defined precious-metal horizons, suggesting significant exploration upside that the 2026 drilling and surface programs may help unlock.
Beyond the primary palladium-platinum-gold flowsheet, Greenland Mines is evaluating potential vanadium, iron, and gallium value streams. Although no economic credit is currently assigned to these potential by-products, their evaluation could eventually enhance project economics and diversify revenue streams. This aligns with the company's strategy of building a multi-asset platform with exposure to rare earth magnet materials, precious metals, and select midstream processing opportunities, while advancing its broader North Atlantic Critical Metals Corridor vision linking Greenland resources with allied downstream jurisdictions and industrial infrastructure.
For investors, the completion of the field program signals progress in de-risking the project. The data collected—ranging from geotechnical and structural information to environmental baselines—will feed directly into mine planning and permitting efforts. As the company works toward an Initial Assessment, the results of this program could significantly influence the project's perceived value and development timeline.
