Golden Matrix Group Inc. (NASDAQ: GMGI) announced the appointment of Atul Bali as Non-Executive Director to its Board of Directors, effective December 18, 2025. Bali, who brings over three decades of experience in highly regulated gaming, lottery, fintech, and digital entertainment across more than 50 countries, will also serve on the Audit Committee, the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, and as Chairman of the Compensation Committee.
Bali's most recent role was Lead Independent Director of Everi Holdings Inc. from 2019 until its acquisition by Apollo Global Management in July 2025 for $6.3 billion. His career includes chairman and CEO positions at GTECH G2 Ltd. (now part of IGT), Aristocrat Technologies Inc., The Football Pools Ltd., and RealNetworks Inc. He has guided companies through IPOs, private equity transactions, and regulatory licensing processes globally. Bali is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW and holds a BA in Law & Economics from Keele University.
William Scott, interim CEO of Golden Matrix, stated, "Atul's appointment represents a significant milestone. His track record guiding public companies through complex growth phases, M&A transactions, and regulatory environments across multiple jurisdictions is directly aligned with our strategic priorities." The appointment comes as Golden Matrix continues to expand its B2B and B2C operations, including its Meridianbet Group acquisition in 2024, which added online sports betting and gaming licenses across Europe, Africa, and South America. The company also operates MEXPLAY, a regulated online casino in Mexico.
Separately, the Company announced the resignation of Independent Director Thomas McChesney, effective December 12, 2025. The board changes signal a strategic refresh as Golden Matrix navigates post-acquisition integration and aims to leverage Bali's expertise in public company governance and global market expansion. The company's forward-looking statements caution about risks including funding for acquisitions, regulatory changes, and economic conditions, as detailed in its SEC filings.
