Frontieras Advances West Virginia FASForm Facility as PJM Capacity Prices Hit Cap

As electricity demand surges across the mid-Atlantic, Frontieras North America is moving forward with construction of its first commercial-scale FASForm facility in Mason County, West Virginia. The company highlighted recent PJM capacity auction results that show tightening power markets, with prices reaching the federally approved cap of $325 per MW-day and capacity falling 6,831 MW short of PJM's reliability requirement. The PJM independent market monitor attributed $6.3 billion of the auction's $16.4 billion cost to data center demand, underscoring the strain on regional power grids.

Frontieras' FASForm process is designed to fractionate American coal into products including hydrogen, diesel, jet fuel, naphtha, and fertilizer—without burning the coal itself. The $850 million Mason County facility is under construction and backed by a $150 million institutional commitment from GEM. The company's inaugural Reg A+ offering previously reached its $25.7 million ceiling and attracted more than 10,000 shareholders. It has reserved the Nasdaq ticker “FASF” for its planned public listing, and its reopened Reg A+ investment opportunity is scheduled to close Aug. 27, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT.

The timing is critical as PJM's capacity market signals a growing imbalance between supply and demand. The shortfall and record prices reflect the rapid growth of electricity consumption, particularly from data centers, which are proliferating in the region. This environment underscores the need for reliable, dispatchable power sources, and Frontieras aims to provide a solution by converting coal into cleaner-burning fuels and other valuable products without combustion.

Frontieras' technology could play a role in addressing energy security while supporting economic development in coal-producing regions. By producing hydrogen and synthetic fuels, the FASForm process offers a potential pathway to reduce emissions while utilizing existing coal resources. The company's progress in West Virginia is a step toward commercializing this technology, with potential implications for both energy markets and environmental policy.

The company's Reg A+ offering provides an opportunity for retail investors to participate in this venture. As the deadline approaches, Frontieras is leveraging its momentum to attract additional capital. For more information about the investment opportunity, visit https://ibn.fm/sKBwNAbout.
