Fitzroy Minerals Inc. has released results from 15 diamond drill holes at the Tenorita area of its Buen Retiro Copper Project in Chile, confirming wide zones of copper mineralization in leachable material near the surface. The company is operating four drill rigs at the site and aims to complete the drill-out of Tenorita by August to support a Pre-Feasibility Study and target production in early 2028.
Drill hole BRT-DDH072 returned 111.9 meters at 0.97% copper from 21.1 meters depth, including 18.0 meters at 1.59% copper from 84 meters. Drill hole BRT-DDH070 intersected 147.7 meters at 0.41% copper from 26.3 meters, including 47.0 meters at 0.88% copper from 113 meters. These results, along with previously reported holes such as BRT-DDH027 (133 m @ 0.46% Cu) and BRT-DDH058 (75 m @ 0.82% Cu), demonstrate consistent shallow mineralization across approximately 300 meters in the south-central portion of Tenorita.
The company has completed 78 diamond drill holes totaling 13,036 meters since February 2026. Current drilling includes one rig testing shallow sulphides north of the historical Manto Negro pit (renamed Ortuzar), another testing the southern extension (Nativo), a third drilling the northeast extension of Tenorita, and a reverse circulation rig exploring regional targets. Fitzroy plans an additional 9,000 meters of drilling in 2026 to advance Tenorita to measured, indicated, and inferred resource categories, define resources elsewhere on the property, and test new exploration targets.
Dr. Scott Jobin-Bevans, a qualified person under NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical information. The company follows strict QA/QC procedures, including insertion of blanks, standards, and duplicates at a rate of 12% of total samples. No significant issues were identified in the QA/QC results.
Merlin Marr-Johnson, President and CEO, stated: "Buen Retiro continues to deliver excellent results and several of the fifteen drill holes reported today reflect wide zones of mineralization in leachable material close to surface." The company's shares are listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under FTZ and on the OTCQX under FTZFF.
