Engineer Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX-V: EAU | OTC: EGMLF | WKN: A3EEVJ) announced that crews, supplies, and equipment have arrived at its 100% owned Engineer Gold Project, located 30 kilometers southwest of Atlin in northwestern British Columbia. The crews are tasked with re-establishing and rehabilitating the two 20-person camps at the Engineer Mine Project and the TAG Project, which have been unused since 2021 and 2009, respectively. The camps are fully built and paid for, providing a significant advantage for the company.
The rehabilitation of these camps is a strategic move that will allow the company to deploy full exploration teams at both sites promptly. The Engineer Gold Project encompasses approximately 18,319 hectares and includes three principal target areas: the Engineer Gold Mine, the TAG Property, and the Wann River prospect. The historic Engineer Gold Mine is a past-producing underground gold-silver operation with historical production between 1910 and 1952 totaling approximately 14,263 tonnes grading 39.4 g/t gold and 19.5 g/t silver (BC Minfile 104M014). A historical Inferred Mineral Resource, completed in 2011 and amended in 2018, estimated 25,000 ounces of gold at a grade of 19 g/t (Snowden, 2011; O'Brien et al., 2018 - www.sedarplus.ca).
The TAG Property, located 6 kilometers north of the Engineer Mine, is associated with a 6-kilometer-long structurally controlled mineralized system. Significant historical drill intervals include hole TAG06-23 with 1.7 g/t Au and 5.1 g/t Ag over 26.7 meters, and hole TAG07-29 with 1.3 g/t Au and 5.9 g/t Ag over 35.0 meters (Fekete and Simper, 2009; ARIS reports #30931 and #29581).
The Wann River prospect, 4 kilometers south of the Engineer Mine, represents an underexplored orogenic gold target. Exploration has identified a mineralized corridor approximately 800 by 180 meters, with a quartz grab sample returning 263 g/t gold and 1,350 g/t silver from the Lum showing (Aspinall, 2011; ARIS Report #32004). Historic drilling in 2011 returned significant intercepts, including hole WR030211 with 11.3 g/t Au and 76.2 g/t Ag over 1 meter (Aspinall, 2011; BC ARIS Report #32478).
The rehabilitation of the camps is a crucial step in advancing these exploration targets. By having operational camps ready, the company can immediately mobilize drilling and sampling crews, reducing downtime and accelerating the exploration timeline.
