Energy Fuels Reports Q2 Results, Advances Rare Earth Expansion

Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR) reported its second-quarter 2026 results, revealing continued uranium production growth and substantial advances in its rare earth strategy. The company announced plans to acquire VAC and Australian Strategic Materials, began construction of a commercial-scale heavy rare earth processing plant at its White Mesa Mill in Utah, and continued progress on the Donald Project joint venture in Australia. These moves underscore Energy Fuels' commitment to becoming a comprehensive supplier of critical materials, from mining to permanent magnets.

Financially, the company generated $25.1 million in revenue but reported a net loss of $33.4 million, primarily attributed to acquisition-related costs and growth investments. Despite the loss, Energy Fuels ended the quarter with nearly $1 billion in working capital, providing a solid foundation for its expansion plans. The company mined 315,000 pounds of contained uranium oxide during the quarter and produced 865,000 pounds of finished uranium oxide, achieving its full-year production guidance in the first half of 2026. Weighted average production costs remained competitive at approximately $23 per pound at its Pinyon Plain operation.

Management reaffirmed 2026 uranium production guidance and highlighted the company's expanding mine-to-magnet strategy, which aims to supply critical materials for automotive, robotics, data center, and defense applications. This integrated approach encompasses mining, rare earth processing, metallization, alloy production, and permanent magnets, positioning Energy Fuels as a key player in the domestic critical minerals supply chain.

The significance of these developments extends beyond Energy Fuels. As global demand for rare earth elements and uranium grows, particularly for clean energy and advanced technologies, Energy Fuels' progress could help reduce reliance on foreign sources, especially from China, which dominates the rare earth market. The company's White Mesa Mill is the only fully licensed conventional uranium mill in the U.S., and its expansion into rare earth processing could bolster domestic supply security.

Furthermore, the planned acquisitions of VAC and Australian Strategic Materials are expected to enhance Energy Fuels' capabilities in metallization and alloy production, as well as provide access to additional rare earth resources. The Donald Project in Australia, a joint venture with Astron Limited, is also progressing, adding to the company's global footprint.

Investors and industry observers will be watching Energy Fuels' next steps closely, as the company aims to deliver on its promise of a complete mine-to-magnet supply chain. With strong financial resources and strategic initiatives underway, Energy Fuels is positioning itself at the forefront of the critical materials sector, which is essential for the energy transition and technological innovation.
