Easy Dynamics (EZD) has secured a new contract with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to provide operations and maintenance for the Grants Management Reporting System (GMRS) and support the Grants Modernization Initiative (GMI) for the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). The 2.5-year, $8 million contract, set to begin in September 2026, underscores the company's growing footprint within the department.
Under the agreement, EZD will maintain and enhance GMRS operations while supporting NIFA's broader grant management modernization. These efforts aim to improve system reliability, data quality, and application performance. The win follows a series of recent successes for EZD at USDA, including a recompete for identity management work last year and a 10-year Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) on the USDA Stratus contract vehicle in 2024. These achievements position EZD as a long-term technology partner across multiple USDA mission areas.
Greg Gordon, Chief Delivery Officer of EZD, highlighted the importance of the contract: "Expanding our work with USDA gives us the opportunity to further strengthen NIFA's grants management systems and support its modernization journey. Our team excels at delivering dependable, secure application operations and modernization support, and we look forward to helping NIFA maintain continuity, improve service delivery, and advance its Grants Modernization Initiative."
EZD CEO Poupak Afshar added, "This win highlights EZD's commitment to delivering results and building trust with our federal clients. Supporting USDA's mission is a privilege, and I'm grateful to our team for their consistent dedication and expertise."
The announcement matters because it demonstrates EZD's expanding role in federal IT modernization, particularly in grants management—a critical area for agricultural research and education funding. By securing this contract, EZD not only deepens its relationship with USDA but also positions itself as a key player in the government's push to modernize legacy systems. The work will directly impact NIFA's ability to manage grants efficiently, ensuring that funds are distributed effectively to support agricultural innovation.
For USDA, this partnership is part of a broader strategy to modernize its technology infrastructure. The department has been investing in cloud-based solutions and improved data management to enhance service delivery. EZD's expertise in identity, credential, and access management (ICAM), cloud modernization, and automation aligns with these goals, making the company a valuable ally in the department's digital transformation journey.
EZD's ongoing work with USDA reflects the company's commitment to building lasting relationships with federal clients. As noted in the press release, the team remains dedicated to delivering results and building trust, which is essential for long-term government contracts. The new contract is expected to create stability for NIFA's grants management systems while paving the way for future innovations.
