Circus SE Appoints Former Compass Group Executive to Supervisory Board

Circus SE (WKN: A2YN35 / ISIN: DE000A2YN355 / XETRA: CA1), a German dual-use technology company specializing in autonomous robotic systems, announced the appointment of Jurgen Thamm to its Supervisory Board. Shareholders elected Thamm at the company's Annual General Meeting with 98.35 percent approval. Thamm brings over two decades of experience in global food service operations, having previously served as Regional Director Continental Europe and as a member of the Executive Committee at Compass Group, one of the world's largest food service companies, which serves over 5.5 billion meals annually across offices, schools, hospitals, and sports venues. His responsibilities included overseeing operations across multiple countries and thousands of sites.

The appointment comes at a pivotal time for Circus SE. Ten months after launching commercial operations, the company is on track to have more than 50 autonomous systems live across nine countries by year-end. Deployments span both enterprise and defense customers, including the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) and Ukrainian ground forces. Thamm's track record in scaling complex, distributed food operations across markets adds a new dimension of operational governance to the board as the company accelerates its growth phase.

"Circus has built something rare: a robotics and AI platform that is already proving itself in the field, from defense deployments to enterprise rollouts. Having advised the Company since 2024, I've seen the pace of execution firsthand. I'm joining the Supervisory Board to help Circus scale that same discipline as it moves into its next phase of growth," said Thamm in a press release.

CEO and Founder Nikolas Bullwinkel commented, "Jurgen has watched Circus scale from close up for almost two years. His industry insights across dozens of markets is exactly what we need on the board as we accelerate our rollout and deepen our position in defense and enterprise. We're glad to have him formally on board."

Thamm succeeds Mark Harre, who served on the board for nearly three years. The company expressed gratitude for Harre's contributions to its growth.

The strategic appointment underscores Circus's commitment to strengthening its operational leadership as it expands its autonomous food supply infrastructure. With experience managing large-scale, multi-market operations, Thamm is expected to provide valuable guidance for scaling Circus's robotics deployments across international markets. This move aligns with the company's mission to build the infrastructure for autonomous food supply, targeting both civilian and defense applications.

As Circus continues to grow its footprint, the addition of seasoned executives like Thamm signals a focus on operational excellence and governance. The company's progress in the defense sector, including contracts with the Bundeswehr and Ukrainian forces, highlights its dual-use technology approach. With Thamm's expertise, Circus aims to navigate the complexities of scaling its operations while maintaining high standards of performance and reliability.
