Cayenne Wellness Center Hosts 5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Educational Summit to Address Sickle Cell Disease Disparities

Cayenne Wellness Center has announced its 5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Educational Summit, scheduled for September 15–16, 2026, at the Marriott Long Beach Downtown in Long Beach, California. The event, which will also be available online, is designed to unite sickle cell warriors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocates, community leaders, and families to address the unique challenges faced by Hispanic and Latino individuals affected by sickle cell disease.

The summit's timing is significant, coinciding with National Sickle Cell Awareness Month in September and the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month on September 15. This alignment underscores the intersection of culture, health, and identity in the context of sickle cell disease. The program will feature culturally relevant education, community voices, advocacy, and dialogue focused on improving awareness, health equity, and access to quality care.

Key sessions will explore the relationship between country of origin, genetic background, and community-centered education. A warrior-led roundtable will provide a platform for individuals living with sickle cell disease to share their lived experiences directly with attendees. Breakout discussions will address the transition from pediatric to adult care, as well as men's and women's health issues related to the condition. International warriors and providers will also be highlighted, reflecting the global impact of sickle cell disease.

Sponsors for the summit include Beam Therapeutics, Inc. as a gold sponsor, and Chiesi USA, Inc. and Global Rare Diseases as silver sponsors. Their support is crucial in bringing this educational and community-building event to fruition.

Registration is now open for warriors, families, caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocates, and community organizations. Interested participants can register at cayennewellness.org. Vendor and exhibitor opportunities are also available for organizations and businesses seeking to connect with attendees. Reservations can be made at tinyurl.com/HHVENDOR2026.
