Brazil Potash CEO to Speak at IDB Annual Meeting on Global Food Security Panel

Brazil Potash Corp. (NYSE-American: GRO) has announced that CEO Matt Simpson has been invited to speak on a Global Food Security Panel at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Annual Meeting of Governors in Asunción, Paraguay. This major international development finance gathering includes representatives from member nations, multilateral institutions, and global investors. The invitation underscores the growing recognition of the company's Autazes Project as a potential contributor to Brazil's fertilizer independence.

Brazil currently imports over 95% of its potash, despite being a leading agricultural exporter and possessing one of the world's largest undeveloped potash basins. The Autazes Project aims to address this vulnerability by developing a domestic potash supply. The project's initial planned annual production of up to 2.4 million tons could supply approximately 20% of Brazil's current potash demand. Management anticipates that 100% of the production will be sold domestically, reducing reliance on imports and mitigating approximately 1.4 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year.

The potash produced will be transported primarily via low-cost river barges in partnership with Amaggi, one of Brazil's largest farmers and logistical operators. This infrastructure approach leverages Brazil's inland river system to minimize costs and environmental impact.

Brazil's role in global food security is critical due to its abundant fresh water, arable land, and favorable climate for year-round crop growth. However, its heavy dependence on imported potash poses a risk to both domestic and global food supplies. The Autazes Project could enhance food security by ensuring a stable, domestic source of this essential fertilizer.
