Apptronik, a humanoid robotics company based in Austin, Texas, announced it has completed an approximately $4.2 million secondary share purchase transaction. Aegis Capital Corp. acted as the placement agent for the deal, which involved the sale of existing shares. The investment underscores growing interest in humanoid robotics for industrial applications.
Apptronik is known for developing Apollo, an AI-powered humanoid robot designed to work alongside humans in manufacturing and logistics, with future plans for healthcare and home use. The company’s technology builds on nearly a decade of research, including contributions to NASA’s Valkyrie robot and 15 previous robotic platforms. Apollo aims to address labor shortages and improve efficiency in critical industries.
The secondary investment, while not providing new capital directly to the company, signals confidence from existing investors in Apptronik’s trajectory. Aegis Capital acknowledged legal counsel from Sichenzia Ross Ference Carmel LLP, including Devin A. Heck, Michael H. Ference, and Ross David Carmel.
“This transaction reflects strong market interest in our vision for human-centered robotics,” said an Apptronik representative. The company, which started at the Human Centered Robotics Lab at the University of Texas at Austin, now employs 350 people and continues to scale its operations.
The announcement is important as it highlights the growing investment in humanoid robotics, a sector poised to transform manufacturing and logistics. With Apollo’s potential to automate repetitive tasks, companies like Apptronik are attracting capital to bring advanced robotics to the workforce.
