Angkor Resources Reports Encouraging Initial Drilling Results at Andong Bor Copper-Gold Target in Cambodia

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK, OTCQB: ANKOF) has completed the first phase of its diamond drilling program at the Andong Bor copper-gold target in Cambodia, with initial results indicating significant mineralization. The company planned a total of 2,800 meters of drilling, and the first 1,099 meters were completed in mid-July on the Thmei North target, a one-square-kilometer copper anomaly. The program was staged around the Cambodian seasons, with the second phase scheduled for early 2027 once fields are dry and crops harvested.

Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration, commented: “Two of the three holes drilled this year encountered good porphyry and skarn mineralization over the 400 meters each was drilled. Portions of skarn were especially well mineralized. The third hole contained a run of over 200 meters with continuous pyrite mineralization up to 20%.”

The drilling was oriented to the east to better intersect mineralized beds, based on 2025 drilling that showed the main structures controlling mineralization are north-northwest striking and steeply west dipping. In this modified copper porphyry model, the best mineralization is found within potassic-altered sediments adjacent to feldspar porphyry diorite dikes. By drilling to the east, the company aims to maximize mineralized sedimentary rock interceptions as it drills through alternating lithologies.

The core from the completed drilling is being logged, photographed, and sampled, with selected intervals dispatched for assay. The second phase of the Thmei North program and activity on Thmei South will continue in 2027, with a minimum of 1,700 meters to be drilled.

The Andong Bor license spans 100.28 square kilometers across Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces. The company holds two mineral exploration licenses in Cambodia, with multiple copper and gold prospects. Its energy subsidiary, EnerCam Resources Co., Ltd., holds an onshore oil and gas license in Block VIII, covering approximately 4,095 square kilometers, and plans to drill Cambodia’s first privately financed onshore exploratory wells.

The results from this initial drilling program are important as they validate the exploration model and highlight the potential for a significant copper-gold system. The intersection of well-mineralized skarn and continuous pyrite mineralization suggests a large hydrothermal system that could host economic mineralization. Successful drilling in 2027 could lead to the definition of a mineral resource, positioning Angkor Resources as a key player in Cambodia's emerging mining sector.

As the company advances its exploration, the focus remains on both copper-gold and oil and gas opportunities, with the goal of unlocking the country's resource potential. The upcoming assay results and subsequent drilling will be closely watched by investors and the industry.
