Angkor Resources Announces AGM Results and Appointment of New Director

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK) announced the voting results from its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held on January 29, 2026, including the appointment of Dr. David Johnson to its Board of Directors. All resolutions presented were approved, with nearly 48% of outstanding shares voted. Key approvals included the reappointment of Davidson & Company LLP as auditors, the election of six directors, the rolling stock option plan, and the sale of the company's 40% participating interest in the Evesham Macklin oil and gas lands in Saskatchewan.

The sale of the oil and gas assets, valued at a fair market price of $4.8 million, was a strategic move that eliminated $3.8 million in debt and provided $1 million in net proceeds. Over 99% of voting shareholders supported the transaction, which the company positioned as a step to refocus resources on its Cambodian onshore Block VIII project. The original letter of intent can be found at Angkor Resources.

Delayne Weeks, CEO, thanked shareholders for their support and welcomed Dr. Johnson to the board. Dr. Johnson brings over 40 years of global exploration and production experience, having worked for Shell, ExxonMobil, Husky Energy, and Kuwait Oil Company. He holds a PhD in Geological Oceanography from Dalhousie University and has led bid-round acquisitions of over 20 production sharing agreements and exploration licenses, with significant discoveries in the South China Sea and Canadian frontiers.

The company also acknowledged the retirement of long-time directors Steve Cochrane and Scott Smith, thanking them for their contributions. Angkor Resources is a resource optimizer focused on mineral and energy solutions in Cambodia, with mineral exploration licenses for copper and gold, and an onshore oil and gas license for Block VIII. The company completed seismic surveys in 2025 and aims to identify drill targets for Cambodia's first onshore exploratory wells.
