Andina Copper Reports Near-Surface Porphyry Cu-Mo Mineralization at Cobrasco Project

Andina Copper Corporation (TSX-V: ANDC | FSE: FIR | OTCQB: PMMCF) has reported outstanding drill intercepts from its Cobrasco Project in Choco, Colombia. Drillhole CDH008, completed to a depth of 652.25m, extended the Cobrasco Central Cu-Mo porphyry system to the north, intersecting 272m at 0.50% Cu, 75ppm Mo, and 1.92g/t Ag from 52m downhole, including 152m at 0.67% Cu, 68ppm Mo, and 1.90g/t Ag from 54m. The near-surface mineralization begins at approximately 52m and is associated with multiple mineralized porphyry phases and magmatic-hydrothermal breccias.

Two additional drillholes, CDH009 (completed) and CDH010 (in progress), have been drilled from the same platform to test northwest and west-southwest extensions, with assays pending. Visual logging indicates sulfide mineralization consistent with the broader Cobrasco Central system. The Cobrasco mineralized footprint now extends approximately 1,100m along strike and 550m laterally, remaining open in all directions. Ongoing scout drilling continues to test the limits of the system, with further large step-out holes planned.

Andina Copper’s President and CEO Joseph van den Elsen stated: “We continue to systematically advance a wide-spaced scout drilling program, actively testing the limits of the Cobrasco system with wide fans of significant step-out drillholes. The system continues to grow with each successive drillhole, with the mineralization footprint already covering an area of ~1,100m x 550m, and results from CDH009 and CDH010 expected to further extend. Surface geochemistry and field observations strongly suggest that the mineralization continues to the north and northwest and indeed remains open in all directions.”

Drillhole CDH008 was collared from the same pad as CDH006 and CDH007, drilled due north at -50° to test the northern continuation of shallow mineralization. It intersected a leached cap with intense supergene alteration over intermineral rhyolite porphyry, followed by a 30m interval of chalcocite coating hypogene sulfides, indicating incipient secondary copper enrichment. Strongest mineralization is associated with potassic and sericite-altered magmatic-hydrothermal breccias related to rhyolite porphyry intrusions. Higher Cu-Mo grades occur in hydrothermal breccia phases where chalcopyrite appears as matrix infill and cross-cutting veinlets overprinting molybdenite. Bornite was locally observed, possibly indicating a later higher-sulfidation event.

Younger late-intermineral rhyolite phases were intersected between 217m and 253m and below 290m, where mineralization and alteration intensity decrease. At 398m, a crowded granodiorite porphyry represents an earlier, relatively barren precursor intrusive phase. Quality assurance and quality control procedures were followed, with core samples sent to ALS preparation facility in Medellin and pulps to ALS laboratory in Lima, Peru for analysis.
