AmpliTech Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPG) announced the launch of two new 5G base station units—the Band 41/n41 Outdoor O-RU (2.5 GHz TDD) and Band 2 Outdoor RU (1850/1990 MHz)—expanding its Open RAN (ORAN) 5G cell tower equipment portfolio. The new radios support O-RAN Split 7-2a, 10G fronthaul over SFP+, and -48V DC telecom power, enabling streamlined integration into modern Open RAN architectures. These units are designed for high-capacity urban 5G networks, airport and university private 5G systems, smart city video and IoT deployments, stadium connectivity, fixed wireless broadband, and industrial automation in mining and ports.
The launch comes ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, where AmpliTech will showcase these and other ORAN 5G products at its booth in Hall 2, Stand 2B20, from March 2–5, 2026. According to industry forecasts, global Open RAN infrastructure spending is expected to grow significantly as operators modernize legacy networks. The new radios target markets including the United States, Canada, Mexico, and countries across Latin America for Band 2, while Band 41/n41 targets India, Japan, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and the United States, among others.
