Financial educator and entrepreneur Nettie Reeves is launching the Pretty Broke Movement, a national financial empowerment initiative with the goal of helping one million women move from financial uncertainty to financial confidence. The movement, inspired by her chapter in the Amazon #1 best-selling book Financial Trendsetters 4, addresses what she calls the hidden financial crisis facing women: the price they pay to fit in.
Reeves, CEO of In Shape Financial Solutions, argues that many women have inherited financial barriers they did not create. For generations, women were encouraged to invest in their appearance, care for others, and carry countless responsibilities, while receiving little education about building wealth, protecting their future, or creating a lasting legacy. The Pretty Broke Movement aims to change that by sparking conversations about money and empowering women to rewrite their financial stories.
"Pretty Broke isn't about criticizing women or how they choose to spend their money," Reeves said. "It's about helping women realize they deserve to invest in their financial future with the same confidence they invest in every other part of their lives. You may not have written the first chapters of your financial story, but you have the power to write what comes next."
Reeves brings decades of experience in health, wellness, and personal growth to her financial work. Her leadership has earned national recognition, including the Steve Harvey Community Award and recognition during the Obama Administration for her contributions to health and wellness. At In Shape Financial Solutions, she champions the belief that being financially in shape is just as important as being physically in shape.
The Pretty Broke Movement is not asking women to choose between looking their best and building their future; it reminds them they deserve both. To mark the launch, Reeves will host an exclusive, invitation-only Pretty Broke Experience on Saturday, August 22, at 2:00 p.m. Women, community leaders, business professionals, and advocates for financial empowerment who would like to attend are encouraged to contact In Shape Financial Solutions to request an invitation.
Through education, coaching, and community engagement, Reeves and In Shape Financial Solutions aim to help individuals and families build financial confidence, protect what matters most, and create legacies that endure for generations. The firm's areas of expertise include Retirement Planning, Life Insurance, Medicare, Long-Term Care Planning, Disability Insurance, and Financial Coaching.
