AirNode.AI has initiated its first deployment with a Southeastern U.S. utility, marking a significant step for the secure AI infrastructure platform. The deployment places a customer-controlled, sovereign AI solution entirely within the operator's security boundary, addressing a critical challenge for regulated industries.
For electric utilities and other critical infrastructure operators, the use of cloud-based AI services is often prohibited due to the sensitive nature of operational data. This has created a widening gap between the potential benefits of AI and what these organizations are permitted to do. AirNode's approach eliminates the need to secure a pathway to the cloud by removing the cloud from the equation altogether.

This architecture ensures that data never leaves the boundary. The weights and inference are local, allowing regulated operators to leverage advanced AI without compromise. The platform is deliberately scoped to applications such as cybersecurity compliance, inspection-readiness, critical document review, policy and procedure analysis, training support, and engineering summaries. It intentionally does not control plant systems or safety guardrails.
