Long Beach Businesses Gear Up for LA28 Games with New Initiatives and Networking Opportunities

In a significant move to bolster the local economy ahead of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with AECOM, Cisco, Deloitte, and Guild, has opened applications for the inaugural cohort of Rally LA. This initiative aims to provide small businesses with resources to enhance economic resilience across the Los Angeles region, according to the Chamber's announcement on August 18, 2026.

Rally LA is designed as a collaborative, place-based effort to build long-term economic value, with the Chamber acting as the core facilitator. The program seeks to connect small businesses with resources and opportunities created by the anticipated economic activity from the LA28 Games. The initiative will involve a local advisory committee comprising representatives from Los Angeles organizations, nonprofits, and community leaders.

Maria Salinas, CEO of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of small businesses in the local economy, stating, "Our small businesses are the economic engine of Los Angeles. As a convener for this initiative, the Chamber is proud to help orchestrate this corporate collaboration." The program aims to build capacity, expand connections, and increase visibility for small businesses, helping them thrive during and beyond the LA28 Games.

Erikk Aldridge, Vice President of Impact & Legacy for LA28, highlighted the broader economic impact of the Games, stating, "The LA28 Games are about more than just incredible sports, they are a catalyst for lasting economic impact across the region." Brian Tippens, Cisco's SVP and Chief Social Impact & Sustainability Officer, echoed this sentiment, noting that the initiative will drive meaningful impact by supporting local businesses.

In related news, the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is facilitating local business networking through events such as the Good Afternoon Long Beach Networking Luncheon, scheduled for September 8, 2026. This event provides a platform for Chamber members to connect and explore potential collaborations, further strengthening the local business community.

These efforts underscore a concerted push to ensure that local businesses are well-positioned to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the LA28 Games, fostering economic growth and resilience in the Long Beach area.
